Mobile Health Services

Florida Department of Health in Seminole County

Mobile health services are offered at various homeless population sites, as well as other areas that have challenges with access to care throughout Seminole County. Locations include Remington Inn & Suites (Altamonte Springs), Rescue Outreach Mission (Sanford), and Suburban Inn (Casselberry). 

The homeless, uninsured, and underinsured populations will be able to obtain health services, screenings, and referrals. Individuals with chronic diseases such as diabetes can also utilize the mobile health services. Services will not be limited to specified populations at special outreach events.

Health services include:

  • Family Planning – Pregnancy Testing, Vasectomy and Tubal Ligation Referrals and Free Condoms.

  • Screenings – Diabetes, Hypertension, Cholesterol, Hemoglobin, Body Mass Index (BMI), and Blood Pressure.

  • STD, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis – Testing, Screening, and Education. (available at some locations)

  • Referrals – Follow-up Care, Smoking Cessation and more.

In 2014, the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County (DOH-Seminole) collaborated with local stakeholders to identify priority health concerns in Seminole County. Chronic disease prevention was identified as our main focus and that’s why we spearheaded this initiative.
