Sanford, Fla. – Virtuous Precepts for Prosperous Living in association with the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County (DOH-Seminole) will host the Central Florida Family Bash on Saturday, July 30, 2016. The free event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sanford Health Office, located on 400 West Airport Boulevard. Seminole County residents and visitors are invited to experience a variety of family-oriented activities and educational workshops.

“I believe the greatest changes in our communities happen when there is a synergy of movement between the family and vital entities within the community such as community leaders, businesses, churches, organizations, schools--whether private or public,” said Veronica Smith, Founder and President of Virtuous Precepts for Prosperous Living. “Everyone must join the dialogue and mobilize for change.”

During the event, a panel of experts will discuss topics such as drugs, sex crimes, domestic violence, suicide prevention, and teenage dropout. Panelists will include individuals from a Certified Mediator, Social Worker, Law Enforcement, Health Officer, Mental Health Counselor, Attorney at Law, Compliance Specialist, Family Specialist/Community Advocate, and Clinical Supervisor. Some of the event’s presenters are Debora Burke, Pastor-Community Leader; Jascinth Brockington, Founder of the Ambidexterity Club; Jucylene Stewart, Assistant Vice President, SunTrust Bank; and Jerry Breckenridge, Business System Analyst, SunTrust Bank. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a financial literary workshop hosted by SunTrust Bank.

“The panel discussion will provide a plethora of health education information,” said Dr. Swannie Jett, Health Officer for DOH-Seminole. “This information will positively influence the health behavior of attendees and prepare them to share what they learned with their family and friends.”
