The Public Health Preparedness Office works to ensure that essential public health services continue to serve the community in the event Seminole County undergoes a natural or man-made emergencies and disasters.
The Public Health Preparedness Office coordinates with Seminole County Government, the State of Florida, and federal government emergency services agencies, local hospitals, volunteer organizations, and religious and charitable organizations.
The Public Health Preparedness Office was awarded Project Public Health Ready (PPHR) which is a criteria-based public health preparedness program that assesses local health department capacity and capability to plan for, respond to, and recover from public health emergencies.
PPHR aims to protect the public’s health and increase the public health infrastructure by equipping local health departments with sustainable tools to plan, train, and exercise using a continuous improvement model.
