DOH-Seminole Extends Blue-Green Alert for Lake Jesup

Sanford, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County has extended the Health Alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algal toxins in Lake Jesup. The alert is in response to water sample taken on February 21, 2023 and is in effect through March 23, 2023. The public should exercise caution in and around lakes where algal blooms are present.

DOH-Seminole Issues Blue-Green Algae Alert for Lake Jesup and Extends Alert for Wood Lake

Sanford, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County (DOH-Seminole) has issued a Health Alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algal toxins in Lake Jesup and has extended the Health Alert previously issued for Wood Lake. The alerts are in response to water samples taken on January 26, 2023, and are in effect through February 25, 2023. The public should exercise caution in and around lakes where algal blooms are present.
