The alert is in response to a water sample taken on April 23, 2024. The public should exercise caution in and around Lake Jesup.

Sanford, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County (DOH-Seminole) has extended the Health Alert for the presence of harmful blue-green algal toxins in Lake Howell (Casselberry) and Lake Jesup. The Lake Howell alert is in response to a water sample taken on September 25, 2023, and is in effect through October 25, 2023. The Lake Jesup alert is in response to a water sample taken on September 27, 2023, and is in effect through October 27, 2023. The public should exercise caution in and around Lake Howell and Lake Jesup.
