The Florida Healthy Babies Initiative is a statewide effort to reduce infant mortality. This collective strength of partners works together to improve the health and well-being of Floridians.

Florida Healthy Babies provides classes, training, and workshops to pregnant women, mothers with infants, families, and the community in general. Assistance is also available in Spanish (Hablamos Español).

  • Car Seat Education: Education only—no inspections at this time
  • Training and Workshops: On infant mortality for community groups
  • Community Referrals: Providing connections to local health department programs (WIC, dental health, tobacco cessation)

Family Planning Medicaid Waiver Program

The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County offers confidential Family Planning Medicaid Waiver health services at no cost for those who qualify.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Between 14-55 years old
  • Lost Medicaid coverage within the past 24 months
  • No hysterectomy or tubal ligations (tubes tied)
  • Household income less than or equal to 185% of the current federal poverty level
